  • Collecting data for Gamedev.js Survey 2023
The new approach this year is a pre-survey ask for help updating the questions, which the community answered. We had multiple Pull Requests on GitHub with valuable additions, which we then rewarded. It all wouldn’t be possible without this year’s partner: we had support from Grant for the Web in 2021, OP Games in 2022, and 2023 was saved by Poki, for which we’re incredibly grateful. - Source: dev.to / 6 months ago
  • Are there any really good Browser Games??
I personally use three three websites when I wanna goof around for a bit, but there are tons of other sites like it. Https://www.mmobomb.com/browsergames Https://poki.com/ Https://www.crazygames.com/. Source: 7 months ago
  • Recommendations for short horror web games
Ideally hosted somewhere like itch.io, crazygames.com, newgrounds.com or poki.com. Source: 9 months ago
  • React Typescript - I have multiple react apps in one react app. How to separate out the code so that one app is not using another app's code.
But if you're doing a larger project, especially if others will be writing the sub-apps (think of something like poki.com where 3rd-party content is hosted) then you probably want a separation, not at the code level, but at the build/runtime level. You see, even with code separation the sub-apps share session/local storage and so can mess with one another. The standard approach here is iframes. Have your player... Source: almost 1 year ago
  • Any games of this genre without ads?
I turned into webgames recently. A publisher like poki.com has ads but few and it's a pleasure to play there now. Source: about 1 year ago

  • Need help with dialog issue
Did you download from steam or swtor.com? Steam has a "Inspect Installation" tool that will fix a bad install. The SWTOR launcher has a similar tool (I think it is a little gear in the corner somewhere, but I am not sure. I use the Steam launcher). Source: 7 months ago
  • What's your SWTOR 2024 Outlook?
Interesting. I feel like we've had some improved communication but when was the BioWare logo replaced with the Broadsword logo on swtor.com? I think that was a fairly recent change and while I think it's great swtor.com actually reflects the current developer it took at least 5 months for this to happen. I don't consider that impressive at all. I expected that would be updated within 30 days of the studio... Source: 7 months ago
  • Old player (beginner) wants to find a new MMO.
Oh, also if you decide to subscribe, subscribe through the swtor.com official website, NOT Steam. I promise you that it will be less of a headache. Subbing to SWTOR through Steam is notoriously buggy for some reason. Source: 12 months ago
  • Studio update on Star Wars: The Old Republic | A message from Executive Producer, Keith Kanneg, on the future development of SWTOR
What I would want to know now that it is official is what happens to the business model. Granted it remains a freemium game at its core and swtor.com as a website is going nowhere (why would it?), who's going to get the money from the subscription? Source: 12 months ago
  • Swtor's dev team officially moving to broadsword - EA will remain publisher
Based on this tweet from SWTOR's Lead Writer it sounds like the employment transition from BioWare/EA to Broadsword occurred yesterday. So yes, this is a done deal and SWTOR is now officially developed by Broadsword. Perhaps they will be updating swtor.com and forums.swtor.com to remove the BioWare logo and replace it with Broadsword logo in the not-too-distant future. Source: almost 1 year ago
