  There's another version out there that I like for the quality of the game called proxx.app which ALWAYS starts you with an empty cell, so you have some semblance of ability on the early moves.   I think HTTP 203 did a video on how they improved the frontend performance of https://proxx.app/ which was a PWA demo at I/O. It's compute intensive and cannot be done by the backend layer. Source: over 2 years ago
