I also experienced all my radio.net favorites deleted last year. I opened up a ticket with VW and never got a call back. I did, however, learn that VW had changed Radio Internet providers through the community here on Reddit. I never received any notification of any kind from VW. I think that's just an artifact, as they can also produce heavy metal scream singing etc. It just mimics something that was in the training data.
