I am building https://github.com/claceio/clace and https://retool.com/, allow automation of operational tasks through a web interface while also allowing fully custom web apps. Clace also works great for running simple web apps locally. Not sure if this is applicable, but if you're using Word or Scrivener or something, you may want to switch to a plaintext editor like Dark Room or Typora--something that won't underline your spelling and grammar mistakes.
