Are you cool with JS frameworks? If so, you can use a higher level of abstraction that takes care of the CSS for you. If you just want to mock something up, you can use a pre-built UI system / component framework and just put together UIs declaratively, without having to worry about the underlying CSS or HTML at all. A lot of proof-of-concept and MVP projects start out with a number of libraries meant to be temporary. Maybe the app was using Chakra UI for its modal and custom buttons, while the rest of the imported library is just dead weight. They do cost money unfortunately, but what you could do is use a tool like https://whimsical.com/wireframes to wireframe your website (free if you keep all files in your personal folder). Then use tailwindui or flowbite as a reference (or some other template library) while wireframing, skip the mockup stage, and then go straight into the coding phase? Source: 12 months ago
