It's pretty bad sometimes. I've too often typed the artist name followed by the song name, all spelled correctly and not special characters like dashes or anything and it shows up waaay down in the results or seemingly not at all sometimes. Usually it's more obscure songs but not always. As a fallback I have sometimes had to resort to searching on song.link and then following the apple music to open in AM. It's nuts. I commonly share songs from Apple Music with my friends, but not everyone uses Apple Music, so they have to manually look it up on, for example, on Spotify.
