I personally really like using speedcrunch[1] as a desktop calculator, and it’s cross platform. It’s not doing pretty print though. Otherwise it’s wolfram alpha[2], but that needs internet. I never type calculations in any search engines, but that’s way too slow compared to speedcrunch. Maybe I feel similarly to chalk using a web view compared to how electron apps are seen by some. Displaying inaccuracies is neat!... - Source: Hacker News / over 3 years ago
Previously, you would write solutions on paper or a whiteboard, but now most interviews are remote. The coding and algorithmic sections are usually conducted using online editors with limited syntax highlighting and code suggestions. You must be comfortable writing code in your chosen language, stay fluent, and be able to debug and test your solutions. Practice on platforms like leetcode, CodePen or CodeSandbox to... - Source: dev.to / 5 days ago
The biggest advice I would give to learning Python as a JavaScript developer is to start by familiarizing yourself with Python's syntax, which is quite different from JavaScript’s. Once you have a basic understanding of the syntax, dive into code challenges to reinforce your learning. You can find some on Codewars or Leetcode. I chose to redo code problems I was already comfortable with in JavaScript, in Python.... - Source: dev.to / 4 days ago
Additionally, I focused on understanding algorithms and data structures, as they form the backbone of efficient coding. I also practiced problem-solving on platforms like LeetCode and HackerRank. These exercises sharpened my analytical thinking and prepared me for technical interviews. By combining structured learning with practical experience, I was able to transition smoothly into a career in software development. - Source: dev.to / 20 days ago
