You can use a combination of Stremio (available on playstore and online at stremio.com) and real debrid to seamlessly stream 4K 10 bit HDR movies/series with no buffering at all. If you open a web browser on a computer and go to criterionchannel.com and play a movie, you can rapidly tap the spacebar and it sort of steps frame by frame. It could take you a few tries, but you may be able to pause on the right frame doing this. Source: over 1 year ago
Makes sense. criterionchannel.com is pretty hard to pass up at $10/month for thousands of titles (for me anyway). I do keep around some discs purely because they look better than streaming but I don't think streaming is the choke point there for the most part. If I was really into newer films / big productions I would probably upgrade everything to 4K and start collecting. Source: about 2 years ago
