You won't avoid interfacing with an API. Even if you don't want to use Stripe/PayPal, you'll need to wrestle with a banks own API or some kind of broker. I created a Coinbase Wallet following the link from https://wallet.coinbase.com to install a Web browser extension but was disappointed to see it doesn't support BTC.
