I tried using duckduckgo by typing "Something so profoundly fucked up between the inverse ratio of shrinking middle class and ever increasing aggression of advertisement site:tumblr.com". Modern at first sight, but quickly dull the senses. Passable for their supreme usability (the Vercel dashboard works better on mobile than many websites on desktop). Just have a look at Mmm [1] or Kinopio [2] to brighten up your mood. Gopher and FTP servers were fairly soulless as well, so I guess this is just a bit of a nostalgic perspective issue. Just ignore the large websites, as you would ignore tabloids or commercial television.
