I use Twitter. The Tweetdeck website is perfect for this. You can make lists for the topics of your choice and put whatever accounts you want into those lists. You never see a single dumb user comment unless you specifically want to. Source: about 1 year ago

Somehow I don't think the handful of Reddit commenters are representative of the hundreds of millions of Twitter users. Agree with all of that. Though with flights, you can also optimize a lot if you have enough lead time: I recommend https://skyscanner.com/ Trains are nice if you need to transport anything of volume, if you stay longer than a day or two so you can amortize the travel time, if you have lots of run-up time, and probably cheaper if you travel a lot.
