   Simplicity and elegance

   It is very well built with simplicity in mind. There are several themes and all of them look amazing. I love the "typewriter" and "focus" mode. In contrast with other apps that focus the current window and remove all visibility options, Typora goes one step ahead and fades down all other paragraphs as well.

  Evernote was ok for a little bit, but the only thing it really did for me was search... Once I realized that I switched tactics. I organized my life into domains, and got okay at using grep to replace it. My saving grace that I would pay twice for is https://typora.io.   I use MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid-2014) with Manjaro as OS using i3 as a window manager. It isn't perfect, but I'm thrilled with it.   At any rate, you can try Breath, Crouton, Manjaro... Those are three of the distros people have found success with. It all boils down to the specific hardware involved... Which we know nothing about since you kept that to yourself. Source: about 1 year ago
