I booked a paid ticket thru united.com for SFO-HKG-BKK in January. The SFO-HKG leg is on United and the HKG-BKK connecting leg is on Cathay Pacific. The United flight is booked as Economy K and the Cathay flight is booked as Economy S. At the time of purchase (6 weeks before travel) I was allowed to reserve a seat on the United flight but not on the Cathay flight. Source: 8 months ago
Option 1) - Current Strategy - Keep monitoring flights on the United.com website multiple times daily for Saver Premium Economy (65K) or Saver Polaris (100K) space. If they show up, book right away via "change of ticket" via transfer in additional chase points to United. I'd have to look at 2 openings in either Premium Plus or Polaris Business at once to not separate the child from adults. Source: 8 months ago

If you can't find the flights you want on aircanada.com or united.com, then there's no award inventory. Source: 12 months ago
Other than paying for an upgrade, are there any ways to squeeze out additional PQP I haven't thought of? They don't offer it for hotel bookings through united.com, right? Source: about 1 year ago
