I can also recommend serverless.com framework for local development and running lambdas offline. AWS provides a docker image for emulating DynamoDB which works great for local dev and will commonly be paired with lambdas. Yeah, on GitHub there's no download directory button or something like this. You could for example use GitZip to download it zipped, just paste URL to that directory in there and download. Source: about 3 years ago
