  Have you considered running on a cloud machine instead? You can rent machines on https://vast.ai/ for under $1 an hour that should work for small/medium models (I've mostly been playing with stable diffusion so I don't know what you'd need for an LLM off hand).   You can also get it online, Either from apple.com or Pchome or momo. Both are authorized online resellers of apple. I bought my both phone, One 3 years ago (form apple) and one just yesterday (from Pchome) and few of my friends have done the same and had no problems whatsoever till date.
