I like dithered images and appreciate the author's post. If you don't, but you want your webpages to load fast, look into WebP and AVIF images. Load them opportunistically using the html5 PICTURE tag - no JS required and no worry about old browsers not supporting new formats. Even plain lossless encoding of legacy formats goes a long way. I worked on freelancer.com for 3 months doing mostly side gigs. WIth the payment, it wasn't much of an issue for me. The first payment indeed, it was more "special", as in, it took 2 months until I got the money in my account. But any other payment after that, were processed within days (at worst). I had some other issues (due to the country I'm working from), like my VISA card not being accepted so I had to do... Source: about 1 year ago
I once posted on reddit my thoughts on freelancer.com and I assume, that it does not have a high reputation among other redditors. Someone who hired freelancers on that very site said, that clearing a payment is very difficult on that site, which I could understand. So do you have also faced other problems on that side? I am also waiting for payment since two weeks. Other than that, I think that the layout looks... Source: about 1 year ago
