Without becoming a software engineer? None. Work for 1 hour a month in the developed world to make enough money to pay for, say, a month on https://wpengine.com/, and get to working on the actual website, not its infra. Even Python will take someone starting from zero anywhere between 10-100 hours to fully grok. A phenomenal time investment if you have any professional interest at all in computers, but if... - Source: Hacker News / 22 days ago
WP Engine ⚙️ Optimized managed WordPress hosting for speed and security, plans from $25/month. Check it out: WP Engine. - Source: dev.to / 5 months ago
For hosting, if you want reliability over everything else, WP Enginge is probably your best bet. It's on the pricier side, though. I didn't use any other hosting besides local German companies yet, so I cannot recommend anything else. Source: about 1 year ago
Transfer is super easy... wpengine.com is my favorite for WP sites. They handle backups and have security options and can handle plugin updates. Source: about 1 year ago
Go for a managed wordpress host. VPS is fine, but not any old host- find someone that does wordpress hosting and does it well, and has higher up tiers that will give you white glove service. Something like https://wpengine.com/. Source: about 1 year ago
Yeah -- though I think VVV has been thoroughly supplanted by Local: https://localwp.com Which almost every serious WP developer I know uses. All this can be good suits for a development environment, specially Local WP that is probably the easiest one to get up and running and wp-env that leverages Docker as a development environment in a very... - Source: dev.to / 3 months ago
Personally if you’re on windows I like using localwp (localwp.com) from wheelfly / wpengine it lets you quickly spin up multiple sites, duplicate them, test mail, one click admin, etc. Its helped me prototype multiple websites over the last year faster than I ever did manually setting up Wordpress instances on vms or docker. Adding to the above recommendations, you could also try Local by Flywheel: https://localwp.com/. Source: 7 months ago
IMHO Don't worry about the Flywheel environment that's referred to in in the course, just use Local WP to provision a local hosting environment https://localwp.com/ – or MAMP or whatever you prefer – and go from there. Source: 10 months ago
