I will say that x360ce.com is very good. There is a 32-bit, 64-bit and universal versions (go with universal). It has an auto-map option. I don't have a PS controller to test it with. I'm also not sure it'll work with that exe, but it might. I've used it once to fool Visceral Cleanup Detail to think a Thrustmaster wheel is a 360 controller; long story but it worked for what I needed and I didn't try the auto-map... Go to x360ce.com and download the 3.2.10.82 • 2018-07-07 for 32bit games. Drop it in with the borderlands 2 exe and run it. Default setting from the internet are fine, but make sure and clear all but the first controller. Then save and close it. Source: over 1 year ago

I am going to assume your client needs the optimizations not the server otherwise I would recommend paper. If you are looking for client sided optimization I'm going to recommend things like sodium, Iris Sharders, and lithium. I have used Optifine in the past and found it to be sub par when compared to those three but you might find different. I am going to recommend Atlaunch as Ive found it to be better than...
