I looked it up: Xonotic was the answer! It was actually quite fun, even though I had to compile from source to play on an outdated office server :) https://xonotic.org/. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 months ago

  • How is FreeSync under Linux?
Any specifics on which games? Does it work on any game? I tested Xonotic on a 144Hz monitor the other day and the highest FPS I got to see was ~90 with no tearing on Kubuntu liveiso but I was using Intel kaby lake integrated graphics, so I assume FreeSync was not at play here, even though the monitor supported it. • NVIDIA On-Demand profile mode issues
I got my infinitybook 16 pro performance edition with RTX 3060 and I am pretty happy with it so far. However, I did run into an issue. • AI to summarize articles
OK, I may have found something here - tldrthis.com was linked there and you can paste a URL and there's a browser plugin. Here's to hoping this can do what I'm looking for. Thanks again! Source: over 1 year ago
  • I made a chrome extension that summarises articles into a single paragraph using AI, making it super easy to save stuff in Obsidian. Hit copy and then paste into Obsidian for better indexing and rediscovery of saved articles. Search "squish AI" in the chrome store to try it out :)

  • Importance of detailed character backstory?
Does it matter if the player is having fun writing them? I sure have, I'll even write a book about my character with as much cliché as you'd expect but I have fun doing it, you can read it, throw it on tldrthis.com or don't. The player character is their entire vessel for the game, if they're writing paragraphs of backstory I'd be happy because that usually means they want to invest that much in the play.
