You Need A Wiki mentions (12)

  • How do you organise your information?
Personally I use YNAW (You Need A Wiki), which makes you a wiki using google drive, I know obsidian is also good but it just doesn't jive right for me. Source: 7 months ago
  • Is it Common Practice to use a “Dev Wiki”?
I personally use google drive, and use https://youneedawiki.com/ to display it as a wiki. Completely free. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Looking for an oddly specific Wiki service feature. Is there one that does this?
Is there a wiki that has a sidebar which uses some kind of expandable / collapsable folder structure that makes the taxonomy really clear? Here's an example as used in youneedawiki. I really like how clear and fast it is to see where you are in any particular knowledge branch. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Ask HN: Making the best of GitHub and Google Docs for a new startup
Trying to nail down what tools we will use as a fully remote team needing to work asynchronously. We will have paid versions of GitHub (Teams) and Google Workspace for email / calendar and docs. I did look at notion, clickup but I honestly think I prefer limiting our spend on an extra tool. What I like about notion is how its got a wiki structure, and this is where G-Docs leaves us short. The performance of... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
  • How do YOU collect your notes and thoughts before writing?
There's an add-on to Google drive called "You Need a Wiki" that lets you build your own Wikipedia out of folders and Google Docs. The ability to add links between sites and documents makes it an excellent way to organise research and notes. Source: almost 2 years ago

What Font Is mentions (15)

  • What font is this?
Sure, there's WhatFontIs, WhatTheFont, Font Squirrel's Matcherator, there are the forums on dafont, or there's identifont, but I think that one relies on descriptions to identify fonts rather than using an image. Source: 7 months ago
  • whatfontis website detect uBO
Take this image if you don't have one > https://i.imgur.com/mOknL1F.png , Then go to whatfontis.com , upload the "text" image, then the next page will show the anti-addblocker. Source: 9 months ago
  • What should my process be for vectorizing logos that clients send me?
    - For font matching, I've found whatfontis.com to be more accurate than What The Font. If the font isn't free to download, on the font page you might be able to type in a custom preview, enlarge the font size to the max, then screenshot and bring into Illustrator -> Image Trace. It's far from perfect, but it can be accurate enough to pass if there are no other options. Source: 12 months ago
  • Font for cursive Wildcats / RGB or HEX for Lavender
Not sure on the font. I tried myfonts.com and whatfontis.com, which resulted in some similar fonts, but not an exact match. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Bleed Out album cover font
I've identified fonts for a few albums/JD things in the past (like this — https://www.reddit.com/r/themountaingoats/comments/p3emi4/for_anyone_interested_in_the_typeface_used_on_the/ — and this — https://www.reddit.com/r/themountaingoats/comments/akqdwj/in_league_w_fonts/) and thought I had for Bleed Out but looking at my post history, I never did. And quickly looking at whatfontis.com and fontsquirrel.com, I... Source: over 1 year ago
