It seems that you have found a site that uses Media Source Extensions to stream videos. Firefox is receiving the video in small pieces, making it impossible to download the entire video all at once using the context menu. Give youtube-dl-gui a try. Hello, I have been using youtubedl for 3 years now. First, I used it via py, then I downloaded the command exe, but it stopped working, after which I switched to youtube-dl-gui, which it worked fine up until a month ago. Now I'm on yt-dlg, and it works but in a weird way. .mp4s are downloaded fine, but when I try to download an .mp3, it's usually done in a matter of seconds and the status at the end always says... For downloading from BBC Sounds - Youtube-DLG is what you want - https://mrs0m30n3.github.io/youtube-dl-gui/. Just paste the link in and it will download it. You can also use get_iplayer if you want to dabble in the command line stuff. Source: over 1 year ago
