  • Reading Hacker News on eInk Android+Kindle

  • It's probably time to rethink "Building in public"
I used to "build in public" with my first app 2 years ago, KTool[0] But back then most indie hackers only share numbers in their monthly reports, me included[1]. And it's not just MRR screenshots with no content. Many shared their lessons, experiments, personal struggles... I can't stress enough how helpful this was. To me and to many founders I've talked with. It helps us with the loneliness and we learned from... - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago
  • Marketing for Product-Obsessed Developers
    - If you collect email addresses, do not promote the main product after at least 3-4 product email updates of that free tool. People _might_ remember your free tool, but almost never remember your main product. Here are 2 examples: 1. I build a tool to send web articles to [Kindle called KTool](https://ktool.io). It supports multiple type of content and so I figured I could build free, standalone tools for each of... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
  • Ask HN: Those making $500+/month on side projects in 2024 – Show and tell
    I started working on KTool[0] in 2022. Here was the Show HN: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=32637996 [1]: https://boltai.com [2]: https://pdfpals.com. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago

I use https://ktool.io on all of my browsers and mobile. It's so much superior to the Send to Kindle! Source: over 1 year ago

I use my Kindle and KTool to quickly send papers to it: https://ktool.io/. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Documents not deleting from device when deleted on Amazon "contents" website
Ugh. I've been using ktool.io for months and had over 300 items. Deleting them one by one using the Kindle interface would take all day! Source: about 2 years ago
  • Documents not deleting from device when deleted on Amazon "contents" website
I subscribe to daily emails from publications of interest via the wonderful ktool.io service. It sends my news feed to my Kindle automatically every morning. Wonderful stuff. My news items are collected and split into a few Amazon-friendly chunks. Then they're delivered automagically to my Kindle. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Treat your to-read pile like a river, not a bucket
An interesting read! I sorta solved this with my little SaaS[0]. I send interesting articles and RSS feeds to my Kindle, and I read some of them every evening before bed time. Articles never stayed in a “bucket” but they flow every day. Not worth reading, ignore it. And I can always find them later if needed (hint: it will never be) If you read a lot of online content, give it a try [0]: https://ktool.io. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
  • Amazon shuts newspaper and magazine subscriptions for Kindle and print
Shameless plug: I build a tool to forward RSS feeds and newsletters to Kindle automatically[0]. While it could not replace the official periodicals, it works pretty well for my personal reading workflow. Consider giving it a try if you’re looking for an alternative. • Is "Send to Kindle" not working for anybody else?
If you need advanced features such as combining articles into ebooks, send RSS feeds and newsletters to Kindle then give https://ktool.io a try. There is a free-forever plan. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Recommend me iOS RSS Apps please!
Shameless plug: if you want to read RSS feeds on Kindle, check out https://ktool.io. Source: about 2 years ago
  • $500 budget to purchase item(s) to increase productivity / quality of life - what you buying?
I use a tool called Ktool which is really great, I think it works for Kindle and Kobo e readers. Source: over 2 years ago
  • How doI schedule an automatic email from calibre every morning?
As far as I know there is no way to do that with Calibre. If you're ok with paid option, you can achieve that with ktool.io via RSS/newsletters integration. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Ask HN: Is there an app for reading newsletters?
Not really an app for reading newsletters, but I built a SaaS[0] to forward and combine newsletters into an ebook and send to your Kindle. I’ve been using it everyday and super happy with the experience. [0]: https://ktool.io. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
  • Those making $500/month on side projects in 2023 – Show and tell
I built KTool (https://ktool.io) — it allows you to forward web articles, newsletters and RSS feeds to your Kindle. ---. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
  • For your next side project, make a browser extension
I can attest to this. The UX is quite bad. I run a small SaaS[0] and had a hard time explaining to my users on how to enable the Safari extension. The UX to use is not as nice either. In the end I switched to the traditional Share Extension. [0]: https://ktool.io. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
  • Red social basada en kindle +feeds RSS
As I'm not a native Spanish speaker I'm unsure that I totally understand your need - but a good solution to send articles and RSS-feeds as magazines either daily or weekly is through https://ktool.io/ Blog post about the RSS implementation https://ktool.io/blog/read-rss-on-kindle. • Ask HN: Those making $500/month on side projects in 2022 – Show and tell
I built KTool (https://ktool.io) — it allows you to forward web articles, newsletters and RSS feeds to your Kindle. --- I did a Show HN 4 months ago[1]. The reason I started KTool was to spend less time on computer screens, and more on e-ink Kindle. I was afraid of going blind. After 4 months improving KTool, it now become a tool to help you combat doom-scrolling. Instead of mindless scrolling the web, I... - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
  • RSS Feed Reading on a Kindle?
I recently came across this: https://ktool.io. It doesn't sync with Feedly but maybe it will meet your needs. https://ktool.io/blog/read-rss-on-kindle. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Ask HN: Why haven't bookmarks been re-invented?
Not exactly “reinventing” bookmarks. But I’ve been working on a micro SaaS[0] to send interesting articles, newsletters and RSS to Kindle. And it kinda “forces” me to actually read those articles, and not just send them into oblivion. If you’re developing a reading habit in 2023, give it a try.
