Do you have access to Microsoft products? They have an appthat students can add to a device that will translate your spoken words into text (you have to have the app or website open as well). There are several other Microsoft translation tools that would also work in different ways, which you may be able to use without a Microsoft license. I'm in the same boat - got married a few months ago and my wife's parents only speak Chinese. If you were meeting them in person, outside China, Google Translate has a conversation function that let's one person talk, then speaks the translation, then lets the other person respond. Tools such as Google Translate and Microsoft Translator are increasingly viable for language translation. Older systems translated words separately without any context which could mangle sentences. Modern translators use machine learning techniques to analyse key phrases and the results are noticeably better.
