Social recommendations and mentions

We have tracked the following product recommendations or mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you see what people think about phpIPAM and what they use it for.
  • Recommended free on-prem IPAM with integrated DNS solution?
PHPIPAM does that, plus hardware inventory and racks (you assign the IP to a pice of hardware then put it on a rack and get rack diagram). It does also vLANs, VRF, circuits... Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Looking for IPAM tools
Given he info you provided, I would say phpipam. It is web base and very light on resources. I don't know if this counts in your portability requirement. https://phpipam.net/. Source: about 2 years ago
  • What is everyone using for IPAM (IP Management) for their home networks/labs ?
Other than that, we use PHP IPAM at work. https://phpipam.net It’s fine. Source: about 2 years ago
  • looking for a method of managing Static IP addresses
Because the IP address are part of the programming for our room control systems(Crestron mainly) if the address changes then we lose control of that piece of equipment. Can phpipam.net be run locally or does it need it's own server? I don't know how much our networking team will be willing to get involved. Source: about 2 years ago
  • How do you remember all your local ips?
PhpIPAM IP Address Managemenent. Scans your network(s) automatically and tags IP addresses as used or unused. Source: over 2 years ago
  • IPAM (NetBox)
Idk about netbox. You should try phpIpam (phpipam.net) it will do what you're asking. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Any subnetting tools out there?
By far the best open-source IPAM solution in my honest opinion is phpIPAM. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Port manager
PhpIPAM might have an option to record ports also, but its been a while since I've used it. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Is the lack of a DHCP server really a good 'security measure'
No comment on the DHCP side, but tools like phpipam exist for a reason as opposed to a spreadsheet... Source: about 3 years ago
  • What have you recently automated at work using python??
I am a Network Engineer and Sysadmin. I have been using tools like Netbox and phpIPAM for tracking IP Addresses, Subnets, VLANs, etc. Both of which provide excellent REST API functionality. Source: about 3 years ago
  • What kind of evil genius research do you do in your Lab? Or not so evil - I won’t judge.
IPAM = IP Address Manager. It's a webpage to allow you to keep track of your used IP addresses in your network. Very convenient when your looking for a static IP for a server. Source: over 3 years ago
  • Using compare-object to narrow down a list then foreach loop based on one of the lists properties
Another solution could be: setup the following tool (IPAM) and use the provided Powershell module to just request the whole subnet (so instead of using SharePoint to save your IP addresses, use a tool designed for it). This way you can always search for an IP in that solution. Source: over 3 years ago
  • Automate ping sweep
This can be done with phpIPAM https://phpipam.net/. Source: over 3 years ago
  • Keeping track of static IPs?
I use phpipam, a free software for address management. Here: https://phpipam.net/. Source: almost 4 years ago
  • Tracking assigned and free IPs
Maybe overkill but I'm using phpIPAM but most of the time I tend to use Fing on my phone because I'm lazy lol. Source: almost 4 years ago
  • Any recommendations for IP tables?
If just IP addressing, a free or open source IPAM like phpIPAM (https://phpipam.net/) or Netbox (https://netbox.readthedocs.io/) could work too. Source: almost 4 years ago
  • Free Tools
I prefer phpIPAM for IP Address Management. It looks like the SolarWinds free tool has a limit of 254 addresses, whereas this tool is truly FOSS. If you want even more detail than that (such as labeling individual ports and what they connect to), I've also heard very good things about NetBox. Source: almost 4 years ago
  • Anyone using IPAM Server (IP Address Manager) with Windows Server?
I use phpIPAM, it has a lot of interesting features beyond being a simple database of IP addresses. Source: almost 4 years ago
  • How do you organise your knowledge?
Some phpIPAM use for ip management and racks. Source: about 4 years ago
