  • Show HN: My Command Line Todo List
Reminds me of how I started my foray into plaintext task management: - http://todotxt.org - https://taskwarrior.org - https://www.taskpaper.com - https://notational.net Eventually, I decided multi-platform sync and mobile access were more important than the CLI. (Also I have the browser open more than the CLI.) In addition, I found a single line per task was not enough (that's why I started looking into TaskPaper... - Source: Hacker News / 9 months ago
  • Simple Mobile Tools Is About To Be Acquired
A task manager tool that supports syncing with Taskwarrior. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Task management at emacs org-mode level in neovim
Not Neovim, but I do stay on the terminal by using taskwarrior. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • How to manage tasks in game dev?
Web-based tools and gui apps are just too high friction for my work flow, so I prefer simple command line tools. https://taskwarrior.org/ is my current favorite. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Ask HN: What productivity tools do you use?
I’ll volunteer Taskwarrior (https://taskwarrior.org), since I don’t see it from anyone else just yet. It’s a CLI oriented task management system which (once you learn it) can be very quick and easy to use. It’s not perfect but they’ve done a better job that I would have for sure, and have really thought about reducing friction. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
  • The April RLM watch party - with a twist
Cool, I set it in my Google Calendar and put it in my Taskwarrior that I started using. Source: about 2 years ago

  • How do you keep track of research time?
I use task warrior to track all my research to-do items, and if I tell it when I start and stop working on a task rather than just marking it done when I'm finished, it'll track time spent on each item. Makes it easy to ask "what have I worked on the past week / month, and how much time did I spend on it?". Source: over 2 years ago
  • Taskpaper.vim. Still used?
To answer OP's question, the last commit seems to be from 2012 so it's safe to assume the project is abandoned. For a todo-list program, I swear by Taskwarrior. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Simple todo app that let’s me add task + deadline in short time

  • Is there a urgency-based task manager/todo list?
I used to use TaskWarrior to manage my tasks, but I can't run it on Windows. This was fine when I used Linux most of the time, but recently, I am daily driving a Windows laptop that I can't install Linux on. I basically need an alternative to TaskWarrior. Source: over 2 years ago
  • How to install Arch Linux for WSL
There's one thing I would suggest doing if you are doing software development: Install taskwarrior. This is useful because you can write down tasks for things you can do while working on project. Personally, I'm more of a Trello person because Kanban is awesome and can be used for more than just computer development. I used it to help me list all the things I need to do when I moved into my apartment a few... - Source: dev.to / over 2 years ago
  • How to keep up with your work
I use taskwarrior at the beginning of the week. I create a task for each deliverable with a due date, then I create a bunch of subtasks that my deliverable depends on to accomplish. I add all these subtasks to a project with the same name as the deliverable task. Taskwarrior takes care of sorting the priority from there since this means subtasks are to be accomplished first which leaves studying tasks for the rest... Source: over 2 years ago
  • Can you recommend a to-do/task app that allows me to *easily* set up tasks as "blockers" of other tasks, so I don't see blocked tasks until the blockers are taken care of?
I would recommend Task Warrior if you're okay with using CLIs. Source: over 2 years ago
  • h-m-m: a terminal-based mind mapping tool

  • A plain-text file format for todos and check lists
Taskwarrior uses a pain text format and is excellent. It's my daily driver todo list. https://taskwarrior.org. - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
  • Private Productivity / Task managers?
I've had great success with using TaskWarrior to manage my tasks. Open-source and terminal-based, though I do use a terminal UI for it, which makes it even more user-friendly. Source: almost 3 years ago
