I really do not want to see what a mail client with the UX of notion looks like. If anyone uses Notion and really cannot stand their UX, I'd strongly recommend Whimsical: https://whimsical.com/ -- it can do a bit of Trello too. - Source: Hacker News / 15 days ago
I thought for a moment you were talking about https://whimsical.com/, which is productivity suite that people depend on for work. I wouldn't want to hear it's shutting down! Then I realized you're talking about the concept of whimsical things, not a company. Whew! - Source: Hacker News / 2 months ago
6. Whimsical Whimsical is an AI-based diagramming tool crafted for speed and simplicity. Because it has an AI-powered autocomplete feature, Whimsical lets users pretty fast create flowcharts, wireframes, and mind maps. As soon as you start typing or adding elements on the platform, it will auto-suggest relevant shapes and connectors in order to create complex visuals in the shortest amount of time. The minimalist... - Source: dev.to / 7 months ago

I really love drawing flow charts and diagrams for applications. Tools like miro and whimsical make it easy and shareable. These can be as simple as a tree of components or files and how they relate to each other. Flow charts following the flow of data are super useful, especially if there are any integrations, micro-services, or pub/sub. - Source: dev.to / almost 2 years ago
Photos are usually really bad at giving you all the information; what's better is a diagram. https://whimsical.com/ or https://app.diagrams.net/ is pretty good for this! Source: almost 2 years ago

Use a tool like Whimsical to create a low-fidelity wireframe of your app. This outlines the basic layout and screens you'll need for your MVP. Remember, the goal isn't to make the wireframe pretty; it's to understand the app's structure. - Source: dev.to / almost 2 years ago

My way-to-go tool in the past year and a half is Whimiscal. It is by far one of the best tools I've used to make architectural diagrams. The main reason is that the end result is beautiful by default. They nailed the UI. I am an engineer with bad graphical design skills, but the result makes people think I invested a lot of time polishing the design of my visualizations, choosing the right color tone, aligning... If money was not an issue at all, for wireframing I would probably prefer Whimsical that I use on my day job - they are a little easier and have a huge set of easily sticking icons, but Visily is a very decent competitor and I didn't really use much Visily's easy switching between wireframes and design. If it happens to work smoothly enough, for me that's already a win over whimsical. Source: about 2 years ago
I also have tried Slite (https://slite.com/) and Whimsical (https://whimsical.com/) and they were both decent options as well. I did notice, however, sometimes Whimsical would slow down if the document was too long. Source: about 2 years ago
If you're talking about organizing research visually, Whimsical is what I use as a product designer when I'm doing research. It's pretty robust for mind mapping and flow charts, supports links and images, and the first few projects are free. Source: over 2 years ago
