(here is what apple claims each of those send/do ), telemetry is way too closely tied with apple walled garden to fully disable it without loosing funcionality. OEM versions of android... Nobody else (that I saw) mentioned it, but PostmarketOS [0] has a decent number of (community) supported devices, is Free and more than a de-Googled Android distro - it's actually based on Alpine Linux. I've previously run it on my Pinephone Pro, but images are available for multiple Samsung handsets as well [1] [0] https://postmarketos.org/ [1] https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Devices. - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago
You actually have 80% of the control of your phone after rooting it. The remaining 20% is due to kernel variation and not having all mainline features. Most Android distributions are tailor-made Linux kernel that is very old and is stitched by cherrypicking some mainline commits. If you want full control check out postmarketOS: https://postmarketos.org/. With the right hardware and software you can even run... - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
For now, only information about Ubuntu Touch support is available on our website. We plan to extend that to PostmarketOS and NixOS. But which devices does Ubuntu Touch support? For example those:. Source: 12 months ago

What state is the phone in? If it works and boots, you might be able to install postmarketOS for a Linux experience similar to a Raspberry Pi. Source: about 1 year ago
For a single-purpose device running custom software you wrote, I would consider Linux which is not an Android. Couple years ago, I wanted something similar on a smartphone, and postmarketOS https://postmarketos.org/ worked rather well for me. The OS is based on Alpine Linux. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
Agreed. (I have a Linux phone, which many people mistake as a feature phone, when really it has all the features of other modern smartphones and u can run any linux apps on it lol. https://postmarketos.org/ ). Source: about 1 year ago
Check https://postmarketos.org/. You can put Linux on old android phone and then run whatever you like on top of it. Source: about 1 year ago
Yeah, supporting Android devices in mainline kernel would be really useful also for projects like postmarketOS (https://postmarketos.org/). - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
I don't think you can install Fedora. If I remember correctly, what your looking for is called postmarketOS. You can then choose between a few DE to install on top, including Phosh or even the default GNOME shell. Source: about 1 year ago
In any case, processor incompatibility doesn't seem to be the problem, anyway. LineageOS shows that continuing support for old devices isn't that big an ask. And hopefully https://postmarketos.org/ will be successful at solving the problem at its root. Source: over 1 year ago
Check out postmarketOS which is based off of alpine, it might suit your needs. Source: over 1 year ago

But anyway, there are actual factual Linux distros for mobile, like PostMarketOs. It's not like Android and iOS are the only possibilities. Sure, these aren't really ready for mainstream yet, but you probably mean just android and ios. https://postmarketos.org. Source: over 1 year ago
Outside of installing LineageOS, postmarketOS, /r/androidafterlife might have some interesting ideas. Source: over 1 year ago
Take a look at PostmarketOS. I did not see your device listed but that doesn't mean it won't/will work. Source: over 1 year ago
