Strongbox began as a side project because there were no password managers on iOS that supported the Password Safe file format. Password Safe was one a leading password manager for Windows and was initially created by cryptographer Bruce Schneier.

There are a few password managers like Minimalist and Strongbox (KeePass ecosystem) that leverage the macOS autofill API but unfortunately it's not a good experience (due to Apple's fault; their apps are great). Both provide one time purchases.
