  • Ask HN: Best UI design courses for hackers?
I think the best practical approach for designing UIs is to download (and buy) Balsamic[0] and use that to design UIs. Cut through the nonsense of colours and pixels in the first instance and just lay things out logically and simply. [0] https://balsamiq.com. - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
  • Build Products that don’t SUCK
Create a low-fidelity mockup or wireframe of your MVP using tools like Balsamiq, Sketch, or Figma. Or use an easier-to-use tool like Uizard, which also has text-to-design capabilities. Source: 11 months ago
  • Starting Design Work in a Spreadsheet
Just for drawing mock app screens, I have found Balsamiq[0] to be pretty good (you can do a bunch of stuff with the trial version itself). Not affiliated with them in any way. [0]: https://balsamiq.com/. - Source: Hacker News / almost 1 year ago
  • Is there software for building out copywriting for a website?
Balsamiq has been pretty good for me so far. It's super bare-bones so it's better for copy mockups than actual UX design. It's also a lot easier than Figma. Note that you don't have to use the default comic sans, but I do because it's funny. Source: over 1 year ago

  • Building a BitClout Social Network Visualization App With Memgraph and D3.js
BitClout is a new decentralized social network that lets you speculate on (the worth of) people and posts with real money. It's built from the ground up as its own custom blockchain. Its architecture is similar to Bitcoin's, except that it supports complex social network models like posts, profiles, follows, speculation features, and much more at a significantly higher throughput and scale. This is already a thing, it's an interesting niche concept, but the biggest downfall IMO is you can never delete anything since the blockchain is public and tracks all changes. https://bitclout.com/. Source: almost 2 years ago

  • Why do they hide the price of deso?
You can't sell on the bitclout.com node. Also, there is no "official" site. To the network, all nodes are equal, whether they are old or new: the DeSo foundation also doesn't call any node "official"- though the node they personally maintain is node.deso.org. You can set up your own node and sell for 10$ for one $DeSo (formerly called 1 $Clout) if you wanted or at 10000$ for a Deso if you wanted. You can see a... Source: over 2 years ago
  • Why do they hide the price of deso?
A lot of nodes do show the price below that as well- for instance diamondapp, which more people actually use than bitclout.com: https://imgur.com/a/iDhOOKS. Source: over 2 years ago
