The Brave browser and/or SmartTube seem to work for me. Now we just need a smooth way to transition from when clicking on a youtube link - to have an option to open one of those two (for desktop and mobile). Does anyone have any better options? https://brave.com/ https://github.com/yuliskov/SmartTube. - Source: Hacker News / 21 days ago

Brave browser, which blocks ads and trackers, grew to over 50 million monthly active users in 2023 while enabling privacy-first models to counter Google's search and Chrome browser ecosystem. - Source: dev.to / 5 months ago

I also recommend an adblocker like Adblock plus or a privacy browser like Brave to limit the amount they can learn about you when not in Private Mode. Add more gray man to your everyday web use. You can whitelist sites you trust, but you still really should not trust those trackers. Source: 8 months ago
There is also https://blogtrottr.com/ which has a free plan with ads. It seems to update hourly on the free plan. (I used this service for years before creating my own, I can highly recommend it). Source: about 1 year ago
There are other services available as well. The keyword you are looking for is rss-to-email. I used to use https://blogtrottr.com/ for years before making my own and they have an ad-supported free tier if you prefer that. Source: over 1 year ago
I use RSS-to-Email then read them in my mail clients. Most things get routed to a few folders without notifications that I open when I want news. I'm using my own RSS-to-Email service https://feedmail.org but I've also used https://blogtrottr.com/ in the past. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
And you can get realtime RSS→email at https://blogtrottr.com/ for free (ads in emails). Or use some other RSS app. Source: over 1 year ago
I use my own RSS-to-Email service https://feedmail.org/. I've written about my setup and why I prefer RSS-to-Email on my blog nearly a decade ago https://kevincox.ca/2013/06/27/email-as-rss-reader/. I used to use https://blogtrottr.com which I do still think is a good product, they just didn't quite fit my needs so after about 8 years I ended up creating my own. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
