I hear that. higheredjobs.com is a great resource for jobs, both tech a not, in the higher ed world. I started as an online learning helpdesk staffer, went to an ID (instructional designer/faculty trainer), and then went back to the online k-12 world. The biggest advice I would give to learning Python as a JavaScript developer is to start by familiarizing yourself with Python's syntax, which is quite different from JavaScript’s.
