I hear that. higheredjobs.com is a great resource for jobs, both tech a not, in the higher ed world. I started as an online learning helpdesk staffer, went to an ID (instructional designer/faculty trainer), and then went back to the online k-12 world. They're written differently because the assumption is that the kid is going to have to teach themselves, and as such they are significantly more thorough and easy to understand.
