Enpass features and specs

  • Cross-Platform Compatibility
Enpass is available on multiple platforms including Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS, ensuring users can access their passwords and data from virtually any device.
  • Local Storage Option
Enpass allows users to store their data locally on their own devices, providing an extra layer of control over their personal information compared to cloud-only solutions.
  • One-Time Purchase
Unlike many password managers that operate on a subscription basis, Enpass offers a one-time purchase option, which can be more economical in the long run.
  • Robust Security
Enpass uses AES-256 bit encryption to protect user data, and features like biometric authentication add additional layers of security.
  • Multi-Vault Support
Enpass supports multiple vaults, allowing users to separate and manage different sets of credentials (e.g., personal and work) easily.
  • Offline Access
Since Enpass stores data locally, users can access their passwords and information even without an active internet connection.

Possible disadvantages of Enpass

  • No Cloud Storage
Enpass does not offer its own cloud storage, requiring users to use third-party cloud services like Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive for syncing across devices.
  • Limited Free Version
The free version of Enpass has limitations, such as a restricted number of items that can be stored, which may not be sufficient for users with extensive needs.
  • User Interface
Some users find the Enpass user interface to be less intuitive or modern compared to other leading password managers.
  • Customer Support
Reports suggest that Enpass's customer support can be less responsive or slower compared to competitors, which can be an issue for users needing immediate assistance.
  • Advanced Features
Enpass lacks some of the more advanced features found in other password managers, such as detailed security audits or secure sharing of credentials with non-users.

What's the story behind your product?

Lyfeguard's answer

In 2021, our CEO, Gary Stewart, experienced the sudden loss of two close friends. While grieving, he was asked to help their families sort through their affairs. It was a heartbreaking task, made even harder by the chaos of scattered or lost information.

As Gary navigated the maze of bills, insurance policies, and legal documents, he couldn't help but think, "What if this were my family?" He realized that even in the digital age, being prepared for the unexpected was more difficult than it should be.

That's when the idea for Lyfeguard sparked to life.

Gary envisioned a simple, user-friendly platform that would help people organize their lives, protect their loved ones, and ensure their wishes were honored. He wanted to create a tool that would bring peace of mind during life's most challenging moments.

And that's exactly what Lyfeguard has become.

It's more than just an app; it's a lifeline. It's the peace of mind knowing your family won't be left scrambling for information if something happens to you. It's the comfort of having all your important documents in one safe, accessible place. It's the freedom to focus on what truly matters in life, knowing that your future is secure.

Lyfeguard is a testament to the power of turning personal loss into purpose. It's a tool built with love and empathy, designed to help you navigate life's ups and downs with confidence and grace.

  • Lastpass: Hackers stole customer vault data in cloud storage breach
I'm obsessive about finding exactly the best app for me, and I was never comfortable with the centralized cloud PWMs. This is exactly why. I’ve been using Enpass for years because I choose where my data is stored (and because it's customizable in ways no other PWM is — at least not the 20+ that I've tried). In my case, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, and Box. (iCloud, NextCloud, WebDAV, or completely offline are... Source: over 2 years ago
  • LastPass says hackers stole customers’ password vaults
I was never comfortable with the centralized cloud PWMs. That's one of the reasons I chose Enpass after test-driving a couple dozen PWMs — it's up to me where my data is stored. I have several separate vaults (work, personal, shared with family, etc.) on Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, and Box. (iCloud, NextCloud, WebDAV, or completely offline are options too). Never happier about that choice than today. For a... Source: over 2 years ago
