It's my go to tool when picking colors: https://paletton.com/ You start with the base, and then also get gradients to adjacent colors in the palette. I believe iCloud is for backing up and syncing iDevices. He (your friend/family?) can configure what is, or is not, backed up to iCloud. He could, for example, remove photos from being backed up if he would prefer to reduce the amount of space needed.
