  • Letterboxd Dating App
Try taste.io, you cannot find users, but it will suggest you movies that people with similar tastes liked. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • In-show bi- and homophobia?
On a social website (taste.io) I read a comment complaining about ‘bi- and homophobia sprinkled throughout [Elementary]’. The site doesn’t allow to react to comments so I couldn’t ask the person, but their comment got me thinking and I would like to hear people’s opinion: Do you think the show has some problematic moments in regards to lgbt+ representation and if yes, can you provide concrete examples? • How difficult would it be to build a recommender system for TV shows at scale?
It's John from taste.io, I think it depends on the method you want to use and where you're able to retrieve data to train the model. With a short amount of time and limited resources, you won't have the luxury of creating a collaborative filtering model....content-filtering is possible if you can also be resourceful with APIs + build crawlers. But, the results might be mediocre...meaning, the recommendations... Source: almost 3 years ago
  • How difficult would it be to build a recommender system for TV shows at scale?
I have been asked to build a recommender system for TV shows at large scale, meaning thousands of users across the entire libraries of services like Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime. Something like taste.io but completely focussed on TV shows and not movies. My main concern is the complexity of this project, I have read up on recommender systems, and they seem fairly straightforward, its the scale that scares me. Source: almost 3 years ago

  • Looking for ideas for side hustles I can do on my 12 hour shifts.
Sounds pretty similar to the situation I found myself in. I discovered a few newsletters/tools: trending insights (free), exploding topics ($39/mo), and trends.co ($300/ yr). Source: 11 months ago
  • Google DeepMind’s Response to ChatGPT Could Be the Most Important AI Breakthrough Ever
i'm still going on upwork, still subbing to trends.co, explodingideas.co type content, still watching youtube to gain an edge. Source: 12 months ago
  • This is how Sam parr the cohost of Myfirstmillion built an 8 figure media company and sold it to Hubspot.
After that the hustle team built trends.co which was the premium subscription newsletter,Getting into trends.co costs a whopping $299 but trends stood out from it's competitors through the community engagement feature, unlike other premium newsletter the subscribers can engage with other founders and people in their community. • AI-Generated Books of Nonsense Are All Over Amazon's Bestseller Lists
I don't wanna discourage people from trying to make side income with AI novels done with ChatGPT/Claude, or coloring books done with Midjourney, but that's literally the lowest hanging fruit. Instead - maybe focus on some no-code AI apps you could build. I found plenty of success stories and ideas on sites like trends.co or theaiplug.co. Source: 12 months ago
  • I quit procrastinating. Making a cold email agency profitable in 3 months. (Week 1)
I really like the one I recommended above. If you are looking to invest a little I think the best possible one is trends.co but the only issue is that costs $300 a year or something. Source: about 1 year ago
